Dr. Alessandro Zannotti

Research Scientist

Dr. Alessandro Zannotti joined NIBRT in 2026 as CONCEPT Research Scientist. Before joining NIBRT, Alessandro worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at UCD, Dublin (IRL) in collaboration with the industrial partner SiriusXT Ltd, Dublin (IRL) for a total of 3.5 years with the aim of developing innovative, cutting-edge therapies antibodies and nanoparticles – based using different cell types. During his research in Dublin Alessandro had also the chance to acquire expertise in Microscopy, in particular Cryo-Soft X-Ray Microscopy, adding it to his Molecular biology background.

Alessandro earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM), Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Italy, in 2022. During his research, he specialised in Cancer biology with the aim of identifying possible novel markers and therapies against different types of carcinomas. For that project, he spent some time at Univesidade do Minho, Portugal to deepen his knowledge in Molecular biology and learn CRISPR-CAS technology to generate stable KO and KI cell lines.
Previously he had completed both his MSc in Molecular and Applied Biology and his BSc in Biological Sciences at UNIVPM, Italy acquiring a strong expertise in molecular cloning and recombinant protein production and purification.
Alessandro brings a strong academic and industrial research background, he has a particular interest in developing innovative, cutting-edge therapies and he is keen to apply his expertise to advance industry and healthcare solutions working here in CONCEPT core facility.
